Terms and Conditions

Woodlands Guest House is strictly a no-smoking establishment.

The following Terms and Conditions do not apply to Christmas and Hogmanay (New Year) reservations. For further details please contact us.

Reservations

• Enquiries can be made by telephone, by post or via this web site.
• We will require credit or debit card details in order to secure a reservation.
• Where credit or debit card details are not available, a deposit of £10 per person per night is required. Payment by cheque will only be accepted when drawn on a UK bank account.

PLEASE NOTE!

We may not be able to accept 'one night only' reservations in advance during our High Season.

Confirmation of Reservation

Once your reservation has been secured, confirmation of your reservation will be sent to you, either by e-mail or by post if time permits. 

Account Balance Payments

We accept the following methods of account balance payment.

• Cash (Sterling or Euro), on or before the day of departure.
• Most major credit*/debit card, on or before the day of departure.
• Personal cheque (drawn on a UK bank only and accompanied by a valid cheque guarantee card for the whole balance, with number written on the reverse side of the cheque), on or before the day of departure. Where the remaining balance exceeds the value of the cheque guarantee card, we may require the excess to be paid by other means.
• Sterling traveller's cheque.

* Payment by credit card will incur a 2.5% handling surcharge .

Cancellations

• All reservation cancellations will be subject to an administration fee of £10.00. This will be taken from the credit/debit card details provided or from the deposit cheque received, at the time of making your reservation.
  
  The following conditions apply to high and mid-season reservations only
  
  
• In all cases, we will attempt to re-let your reserved room(s).
• If we are unable to re-let your reserved room(s), either in part or in full, we reserve the right to levy the following cancellation charges:
  • Cancellation more than 7 days prior to your planned day of arrival - no charge.
  • Cancellation from between 2 days and 7 days prior to your planned day of arrival - 50% of the loss incurred.
  • Cancellation less than 2 days prior to your planned day of arrival - 100% of the loss incurred.

Where a deposit has been paid, any relevant fees will be deducted and the remaining balance will be returned.

PLEASE NOTE!

At all times, cancellation in any of the following three circumstances will occur a charge equal to 100% of the full reservation fee:

1. Cancellation after 00.00 hours on your planned day of arrival
2. Failure to arrive for your stay
3. Early termination of your stay

Hotel Insurance

We advise all guests to consider taking out hotel insurance to cover the possibility that you may need to cancel your stay with us. Whilst we do not expect guests to pay for holidays they are unable to take, we are sure you will understand that neither can we afford the consequential loss of earnings that your cancellation may cause us.

Arrival and Departure Times

• Guests are welcome to check in at any time after 16:00 (or earlier if by prior arrangement).
• Guests are respectfully requested to vacate their room(s) by 10:30 on the day of departure.

House Policies

• In accordance with The Smoking, Health and Social Care (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Prohibition of Smoking in Certain Premises (Scotland) Regulations 2006, smoking at Woodlands Guest House is strictly prohibited in all areas except on the front lawns or in the car parking area.
• We are unable to cater for children less than 6 years of age.
• We are unable to accept reservations for children/teenagers unless accompanied by an adult of 25 years of age minimum.
• We do not accept pets.
